What better place to start at than the beginning?
Naru and Jabs decided to quit modding Fandango which, of course, led to mass confusion and panic over whether or not Fandango would continue. Stars and I were appointed the new mods and we have since been working on bringing things up to date and calm things down. Then Mer decided to quit modding Flamingo U by completely destroying it.
So now a lot of us think we should create a new college and merge the three schools into one community. This new community however won't be just a school RP, meaning your characters won't have to be either a student or a teacher. It's just going to be the lives of the inhabitants of Flamingo Heights. The schools will still be there, of course. I believe we're going to be expanding Bonaparte Jr High into an elementary school as well.
How would everyone feel about just moving everyone to a new community to start fresh?

Based on my informal poll in the LJ comm, (which, admittedly, not everyone has responded to yet) majority opinion seems to favor the single-comm plan. I personally am in favor of the single comm plan.

Personally, I like the idea of a single comm. Tiger-san and I were talking about it last night and I think it would be a great way to develope beyond just the student/teacher stuff.
A couple examples of what I mean:
Ayame could focus on his shop instead of having to teach.
All of the Weiß characters could start a flowershop, as they have a penchant to do.
Stuff like that, ya know? Things that would better suit your characters, instead of trying to make them teach or go to school.
And we were talking about how we could, as a group, establish a list of places in Flamingo Heights, -like stores, restaurants, attractions- instead of making up new places each time characters want to go somewhere. Like, we could name the local beach and come up with some specific stores and restaurants and stuff.

I think a new community taking in all of FH would be AWESOME. Even before this all happened I thought that we would just do that because imagine all the new sorts of things people could do.
Snow listed a lot of great examples but this could allow students to get part-time jobs, let adults have jobs OTHER than teacher, it could create all sorts of new events and settings for people to RP at.
It'd just open up many new doors and possibilities for everyone.

I've said it before in the LJ poll but I'm all for a single community.
And the general idea from expanding it from 'just' school to kind of a... well, kind of part of a city sounds good to me too. I think, like Snow said, the idea of some working not as teacher but at shops sounds pretty good too.
It would give more space for interaction, more reasons to meet someone and so on.

Merging communities and making it more than just the schools would be awesome!
Does that mean we're going to be less centered on the schools? 'cause my only fears about that are being the only one playing most of her characters at the school still, and seeming out of place if my character posts something about class XD
'cause let's face it...it wouldn't be the same if Jack didn't have students in his agriculture class and we didn't have farmer's markets XDD

Well since we all come from the 'school' backround in terms of Fanny I think most people will still be primarily in those :3 Particularly since there are so many teachers and students already it would be hard to deviate away from it--and any newcomers would notice the attention spent on the schools are probably go into it as well.
I don't see it as centering less on the schools so much as just giving people more room and options.
